Properties
The City of Oaks Foundation frequently partners with the City of Raleigh and other community organizations to enhance the conservation and recreation value of local land. Through generous donations, the Foundation acquires land that, with donor approval, is often transformed into public parks, nature preserves, greenway trails or dedicated open spaces. By working together, we ensure that these valuable natural areas are preserved and accessible for the community to enjoy.
While many of the properties the City of Oaks Foundation work with become public parks within the City of Raleigh’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department, some become county parks, or are privately held by local land owners or by the City of Oaks Foundation, with conservation easements or other restrictions protecting them from deforestation or similar development.
You can learn more about these properties here. If you are interested in possibly donating land for conservation purposes, please contact the Foundation through the links in our About section.
