City of Oaks Foundation
The City of Oaks Foundation is a nonprofit conservation and youth development organization closely aligned with Raleigh’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department.
The Foundation is a charity recognized as tax-exempt by the IRS under Section 501(c)(3), NC Charitable Solicitation License #SL007735.
The City of Oaks Foundation has provided support for the City of Raleigh’s Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department (PRCR) since the Foundation’s creation in 2010, as a partner for parks, greenways, nature preserves and open space that support the City’s ongoing conservation efforts. The Foundation expanded the scope of its partnership with PRCR in 2020 to provide financial assistance that removes barriers to participation in PRCR programs, to collaborate with grassroots community organizations that support parks and recreation programs, and to support PRCR by providing grants, donations, and volunteers to support the PRCR park system.
This work promotes the City of Raleigh’s Strategic Plan, specifically it’s goals to embrace Raleigh’s diverse offerings of arts, parks, and cultural resources as iconic celebrations of our community that provide entertainment, community, and economic benefit and to encourage a diverse, vibrant built environment that preserves and protects the community’s natural resources, strives for environmental equity and justice, and encourages sustainable growth that complements existing development.
